The article offers a brief overview of the development of the international children‘s rights law prior and after the adoption of the Convention of the Rights of the Child.
The article offers a brief overview of the development of the international children‘s rights law prior and after the adoption of the Convention of the Rights of the Child. It stresses the global significance of the Convention and its outstanding range of validity. The article singles out the United Stated of America as the only country in the world, which has not ratified the Convention yet and illustrates the reasons for refusing it. The article also discusses the relation between the universal acceptance and full implementation of a treaty, with special emphasis on the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
