The two-volume book Legal Philosophy in The Twentieth Century: The Civil Law World edited by Enrico Pattaro and Corrado Rovesi in the closing volume of a twelve-volume series The Treatise of Legal Philosophy and General Jurisprudence.
The two-volume book Legal Philosophy in The Twentieth Century: The Civil Law World edited by Enrico Pattaro and Corrado Rovesi in the closing volume of a twelve-volume series The Treatise of Legal Philosophy and General Jurisprudence. The series is a unique attempt under the editor-in-chief Enrico Pattaro to present legal philosophy in its theoretical and historical dimensions. The last volume provides a panoramic overview of the continental legal philosophy in the last century. The first volume lays out historical presentations of the discipline’s development in five language areas (i.e. the German-speaking countries, the Southern-European countries and France, the Eastern European countries, the Nordic and Low Countries and the development in Latin America). The second tome outlines main orientations and topics tackled by legal philosophy of the last century. The book is a titanic achievement, excelling both in detail of the presentations as well as their depth and will remain for some time the reference point of any further study of this field.
