Professor Majda Strobl, PhD was an important Slovenian jurist, a doyen of Slovenian constitutional law, who left an indelible mark with both her professional as well as pedagogical work. Professor Strobl co-authored the history of the Faculty of Law by becoming the first (female) full professor in law, as well as the first (female) dean of the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Law. She also left a permanent mark with her mentoring work as it, directly or indirectly, ties her with all of her successors at the Department of Constitutional Law of the Ljubljana’s Faculty of Law. Her life and work offer us many cues to contemplate topics more or less connected to law, such as the role of constitutional law and lawyers in the pertaining social and political life, on the role of women in law, especially constitutional law, as well as more generally, on the role of the Faculty of Law and its professors for the development of law (including) through education and formation of new generations of lawyers.

Keywords: Majda Strobl, (female) professor, constitutional law, 100 years of the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana.
