Legal Aspects of Packaging Waste Treatment in Slovenia

Legal regulation of packaging waste treatment in Slovenia is analysed, in particular the legal position of packaging waste treatment companies. For them, the main question in regard of legal regulation of packaging waste treatment, is what is the extent of their obligation: are they obliged to pick up all the packaging waste from the waste treatment public services providers, even though that exceeds the quantity of packaging waste put on market by waste packaging producing companies. According to author, no legal obligation exists for packaging waste treatment companies to pick up all the packaging waste from the waste treatment public services providers, in case that the packaging waste exceeds the quantity of packaging waste put on market by waste packaging producing companies in Slovenian legal system.
